Secura Vanitas for the Christmas season has decided to launch a new lipstick on the market, called “Krampus”, because it is inspired by this creature. Krampus is an evil figure formerly associated with the celebration of the winter solstice (when darkness prevails over light) as well as various pagan rituals (probably Celtic) that were part of the eternal struggle between good and evil, later readapted to Christian mythology. According to Christian mythology, Krampus is in fact the servant of Bishop St Nicholas (Santa Claus), who, after defeating the demonic being, enslaved him. This story gave rise to the later belief, attested to from the 6th-7th centuries AD, that St Nicholas (protector of children) knocked on doors to give good gifts to deserving children, faithfully accompanied by the devil, who, on the contrary, had the sole intention of finding bad children to punish. In the Divine comedy Dante Alighieri recalls this legend and St Nicholas as helper and saver of three poor girls, that thanks to his presents, brought magically through the night, saved themselves from a grim future
From the typical ruby red vest of St. Nicholas derives the red shade of Krampus lipstick

I am absolutely in love with the packaging of this lipstick. The deep shade of red is so eye-catching. It is indeed a true glossy lipstick with good pigment. It does not feel dry on the lips and fits best for my skin color.
